“We like to focus on the journey rather than just an outcome. We just hope to be able to meet people and have them interact with our clothing.”
– Karishma Shahani Khan
Excerpts from an interview:
Ragini Ahuja: SS18 recognizes the cultural identity and displacement of the Kayans – the long neck hill tribe from Burma. They have fled their homeland to escape torture, forced labour and killings and live in camps along the Thai-Burma border as ethnic refugees. ‘Kayan’ is a reflection of their inclusion and exclusion, their calm rebellion and instinct to survive.
Karishma Shahani Khan: Our collection ‘Love Story’ believes in stories where good wins over evil. Each piece we make is crafted staying consciously aware of its end and its effects on the world around us. We are proud of our heritage and love expressing it through contemporary relevant clothing that can be worn by anyone who chooses to.
Ujjawal Dubey: The new collection by Antar-Agni is a happy hide-out! It is a detour from the intense style. Maybe a stopover at an oasis in the desert, to continue our onward journey.
