WENDELL RODRICKS

Wendell Rodricks is India's Guru of Minimalism who pioneered resortwear, minimalism and eco-friendly fashion before the words were coined. Working in a remote village in Goa, his work has attracted a growing clientele and he has been invited to show in the world's most important garment fairs, including IGEDO, the Salon Pret-a-Porter Paris and BIOFACH Nuremburg. Known for his whites and using cut and colour in special handwoven weaves, the Wendell Rodricks style is unique in India and is recognised for the fluid emotion and lack of embroidery. He has done three grand finales for Lakme Fashion Week and his work has earned respect in the corporate world in India. Wendell Rodricks has written two books. Moda Goa : History and Style and The Green Room, both released in 2012. Apart from writing, he has done various design projects ranging from designing for the Goa Police to designing the packaging for the Blenders Pride carton for the festive season 2012. In 2014, the designer was awarded the fourth highest civilian honour, the Padma Shri by The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee for Art (Fashion Design)
